Himpunan, or in English called "set". As in Indonesia's university culture, "himpunan" is equivalent as student board organization. Himpunan usually consist of students from same major or faculty. Himpunan Mahasiswa Informatika ITB, or so called HMIF ITB, full of students from Informatics Engineering and Information System Technology major. For consistency, next we mention "himpunan", we will call it using English terms, student board organization, or I will call it by their name directly.
To join a student board organization, student must follow sets of organization orientation. HMIF held this orientation for approximately 3 months. After the orientation completed, the student become regular member of the student board organization. I joined the student board organization in 2023, so at that time, the student board management group is assigned to 2023/2024 management periods.

In order to provide proof of commitment as a new member of student board organization member, all of the newly regular member must become staff of the student organization management body. As a new member, of course I analyze, which division/placement will be easy but still beneficial for me? There are a lot of division and group, starting from public relation division, people management division, academic division, welfare division, career development division, and so many more.
In the end, I choose to become staff of academic division. The reason is relatively simple. I heard that the work of the academic division is relatively easy, but still related to the academic learning that takes place in lectures as usual.
When I participated in the selection process for an internship and became a staff member in the Academic Division, Kak Chi interviewed me about my experience in managing information, files, and academic affairs. Some of my experiences as class president, being a member of academic extracurriculars, and my hobby of managing and organizing academic files were the main things I highlighted.
Then, Kak Chi asked that the academic division used to have an official account bot that managed and notified all association members regarding assignment schedules, exams, quizzes, labs, and all project deadlines. However, the bot is now broken and unusable, so currently there is no management or recording of assignments at all. Kak Chi then asked if I had any ideas for addressing this issue. I then remembered my method for managing assignments and deadlines during high school and my first year of college: recording assignments and deadlines in Google Calendar, and I learned that Google Calendar can be shared events.
Unexpectedly, this idea was later adopted as a mechanism for managing and notifying schedules for all HMIF members' academic activities, leading me to become a staff member of the HMIF academic division.
The work we've done in academic division including handling laboratory assistant recruitment process, managing academic resources and academic learning materials from the upper class, reminding student about homework, exams, quizzes, and practical works, and many more.
Whilst in this period of becoming staff of academic, I learn a lot of culture, people inside student board and also teacher from my faculty and majors. I truly enjoyed my time in academic division, and that's becoming one of my main reason for my next step in student board organization management...
